    We play originals only and usually play one 45 min set on 3 band bills.

    We have enough material to actually play 4 one hour sets...but nobody want to hear 4 hours of unfamiliar music, and I don't get paid enough for all that.

      We don't have that much material, but we could probably do 2-3 sets of originals written by our guitarist/lead vocalist. He hasn't written anything new for the last couple of years, but his songs are damn good (I've been playing with him for the last four years and I'm still not sick of any of them). But as you noted, there aren't many paying gigs for bands playing nothing but original music, so we've been focusing on beefing up our selection of covers. We'll typically throw 1-2 originals in per set, though, just to mix things up.
